The Write Stuff

John Lennon & the Mercy St. Café by William HammettUnlike most ghostwriters, I publish books under my own name. I was first encouraged to write by Erle Stanley Gardner, creator of the well-known Perry Mason novels. I will be forever indebted to this kind man who took time to read my work and challenged me to make writing a career.

I also studied the novels of family friend and bestselling-author Walker Percy who wrote classics such as Love in the Ruins, The Moviegoer, The Thanatos Syndrome, Lancelot, and The Second Coming. He befriended my family on many occasions and presented a standard of excellence that I still strive for today, both personally and professionally.

Finally, people often ask, "Are you related to world-famous novelist Dashiell Hammett (author of The Maltese Falcon, The Thin Man, and The Dain Curse)?" The answer is a definite yes! He's a cousin who shares a common great-grandparent in my paternal line. You might say that writing is in my blood – literally.

If you decide to work with me, I'll share with you a lifetime of experience in crafting great manuscripts. You shouldn't settle for a book cranked out by a ghostwriting company or moonlighter. If you have an idea, I have the write stuff!
